From Post War Jaffna to a Future of Service
In the aftermath of the Sri Lankan civil war, many children faced years of instability. Kavipriya, one of our brightest students, is an example of resilience turned into achievement.
Her family endured difficult conditions for years, yet she never let circumstance dim her commitment to learning. From her earliest days on the BMF programme, she showed a passion for English, an eagerness to sit at the front of the class, and a discipline that inspired both peers and tutors.
When the Foundation raised funds to bring electricity to her family's home, it was more than an infrastructure change it created the conditions for study, ambition, and progress. Kavipriya seized that opportunity with characteristic drive.
The last time we spoke, she shared her aspiration to become a police officer, dedicating herself to serving others and protecting her community. That vision reflects the very heart of what we believe: that young people who persist through adversity develop a strength and focus that makes them extraordinary leaders of tomorrow.
