MyYardChangeMakers Programme
Our 10-month programme which runs from October 2023 till July 2024, is designed to ignite the curiosity and passion of young minds. We believe in fostering a love for learning by tailoring our approach to each child's unique interests
Our comprehensive programme takes children on a journey of self-discovery, mentorship, and skill-building, ensuring that they not only achieve academic success but also develop a lifelong love for knowledge
In partnership with the MyYard Foundation, we began by conducting a thorough training needs assessment for the kids at the Grange Farm Estate, in the London Borough of Harrow
The Key Components of This Programme
Interest Evaluation and Goal Setting
Through interviews, we’ve invited a group of 6 children aged 11-15 and identified their individual learning requirements. This personalised approach allows us to tailor the programme to meet the specific educational needs and interests for each of them
Monthly Progress Checks
Regular progress checks are an integral part of our programme. We assess each child’s development monthly, ensuring that they are on track to meet their goals. This iterative process allows us to adapt our teaching methods and materials to suit the evolving needs and curiosities of the children
Building Trust through Fun Activities
Trust is the foundation of a successful learning experience. To build strong connections, we incorporate fun events, like Go-Karting and Escape Room, and informal dinners into our programme. These activities provide a relaxed and enjoyable setting for children to interact with mentors, educators, and peers, fostering a sense of community and support
"Ask a Professional" Online Mentoring Sessions
One of the highlights of our programme is the “Ask a Professional” series, where children have the opportunity to delve into various professions that spark their interest. Our online mentoring sessions bring professionals from diverse fields directly to the students. Through interactive sessions, children can ask questions, gain insights, and explore potential career paths
